Get to Know Rhonda Shear – 2013 TBFW Featured Designer

Rhonda Shear first made her mark as a beauty queen and Hollywood actress, before venturing into the fashion world as an intimate apparel designer. Her line, Rhonda Shear Intimates, focuses on embracing a woman’s curves and teaching women to accentuate what they have. She listens carefully to her customer’s needs and caters to women from sizes XS to 3X. Rhonda has been featured in Tampa Bay Fashion Week for several years, on HSN, and was even named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2012.

This year at Tampa Bay Fashion Week 2013, Rhonda will launch her exclusive collaboration designs with Crystal Hefner and Kato Kaelin!

From the Beach to the Boudoir

From lingerie to swimwear, we all want to show a little skin.  Fashion does not end at the beach, or even the bedroom.  At Tampa Bay Fashion Week, the fabulously sexy Rhonda Shear brought plenty of excitement to the Boudoir with satin, sequins and lace.

In the area of swimwear, Essence Flowers has broken the mold in a most fabulous manner.  Featuring unique short sleeved pieces, plus size options and I must say that since the night of the show, I have been considering wearing a glittering masquerade mask to the beach.

Sometimes, the most amazing fashion comes from the least amount of fabric.

Brilliant Runways Soon To Come

Looking for some excitement?  Never fear, for Brazilian designer Rogerio Martins is on the horizon.  Known for his unique wearable art, Rogerio brings the feminine mystique and culture of Brazil to fashion.

Martins has been showcased in several prestigious venues and was recently chosen as an Outstanding Emerging Designer of the year finalist at the Miami Beach International Fashion Week.  After a peek at some of his work, I would say this honor is well deserved.

Another brilliant talent to hit the stage will be Essence Flowers.  A native of Florida, Essence has made a name for herself with a breathtaking design aesthetic.  From professional cheerleading uniforms to magnificent art pieces which serve as inspiration for entire communities, Essence Flowers is here to bring great things to the runways of Tampa, and throughout the world.

With so many  wonderful garments to be seen, one cannot forget intimates.  Rhonda Shear, former host of USA: Up All Night, creates beautiful sleep and shapewear using only the finest materials.  Challenging  women to embrace their curves, Rhonda Shear Intimates are the perfect accessory to any style.

Such a Mahh-velous Designer: Rhonda Shear

When I learned that Rhonda Shear was going to be returning to Fashion Week Tampa Bay runways this year, I just had to visit her website and check out the latest designs.  Like most of us, I am very familiar with what Rhonda shows on HSN, and I do love those products. But I had no idea the extent of her line until I saw her site this week. And I am so glad I checked it out.

Of course, undergarments can be functional (and need to be), but the best scenario is when they are functional, comfortable and beautiful – and that describes Rhonda’s line perfectly.  “Help me, Rhonda” is exactly her calling, and with her beautiful designs, she has done just that for all ages and sizes of women.

I know I like to feel beautiful starting with what I wear under my clothes, and the way to look and feel your best is when you know that everything stays put with no unsightly lines, no unwanted bumps, no tugging and pulling.  Fashion at its best from the inside out!

So I say thank you, Rhonda, for making me and my fashion world a prettier, more comfortable place. Check out Rhonda on the runways this Friday, Sept. 23 at Innisbrook Golf & Spa Resort for Tampa Bay Fashion Week! See you there!

Fashion and Fun Down to a Science!

Who ever thought that fashion and science could go hand in hand?  Well, Friday, March 12, 2010 from 11:30a.m. to 2:00p.m. at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort and Golf Club in St. Petersburg, we’ll get to see the two worlds combined. The Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) Foundation will be celebrating its newly formed Florida chapter with an inaugural luncheon and fashion show fundraiser to benefit graduate students at the University of South Florida studying science, medicine and engineering.

Fashion and Fun Down to a Science will showcase featured designers from Tampa Bay by holding a trunk show along with a model presentation. Rhonda Shear, featured designer at Fashion Week Tampa Bay for the past two years (2008 and 2009), will be showcasing her sexy and sensual lingerie, shapewear and intimate line from her local boutique Maison Rouge. There is no doubt that she will  bring the spice to the science lab!

Along with this fashionable showcase, ARCS, an all-women volunteer nonprofit organization, hopes to raise enough funds through this event to support two $15,000 scholarships for USF Colleges of Marine Science and Cancer Biology. Rhonda Shear brings out the wild and sexy side of fashion to the runway at Fashion Week Tampa Bay 2009.

This lifetime TV personality is no stranger to the spotlight! Rhonda has had a very successful and exciting career as an actress. She is probably best known as the star and host of USA Network’s most popular Friday night movie series, “USA: Up All Night.” Ronda has guest starred on many television series including Full House and Cheers. She has also been the feature star on such shows as Larry King Live and Entertainment Tonight. Plus, she has graced the cover of numerous magazines and has been profiled in magazines like PEOPLE and PLAYBOY.

Now Rhonda Shear designs a line of lingerie and shape wear for all women in the Tampa Bay area and world. Her line has been featured on the Home Shopping Network to provide women undergarments that will make them look slimmer in seconds. Rhonda also owns a boutique in St. Petersburg, Fla., Maison Rouge which allows women of all shapes and sizes to enjoy their fun and sexy side in her pieces.

This year Rhonda is collaborating with Warden Neil, Emmy-nominated Hollywood designer and friend to bring in some wonderful additions to her collection. Rhonda’s showcase this year at Fashion Week Tampa Bay 2009 will be even more fun, sexy and wild than last years! Get ready for a wild night on the runway!
